Hello Community

I was wondering what i should do build an intel x99 chipset pc or should i wait for skylake

Just wanting to know what everyone thinks

The question ist: What Do you wanna do with the PC.
X99 ist very expensive and not for gaming. Its for rendering videos, streaming etc.

So if you wanna build a gaming pc, than wait till gamescom and skylake. Roumors say that it will be 15% faster, than Haswell.

I think that Skylake won't be too impressive.If you are fine with 4 cores, go for 1150.
If you need 6/8 cores, go with 2011-v3.

There is no point waiting for less than a 25% IPC increase if you can just overclock current hardware if that additional performance is even required.
In addition, rumored pricing for Skylake is around 20% higher than it is for Haswell.

You should pick up a CPU and motherboard that suits your needs.
Going overkill does not do any good.
