Finally back to Playing BOI .... all servers are shit rn just started on this trinity aint to bad just the donation shit that i dont really like anyway hope someone launches a good server with nice rates/Gameplay .... i miss Menoz :(
It's a lot of work that brings a lot of drama. "nice rates" varies from player to player. Thus it is difficult to make a server people are happy with in that aspect. As for gameplay you either grind, pvp or want to sit and open items forever. There is not a very large group of players that enjoys the actual game itself this makes it difficult for those who do to find groups or to give GM's incentive to make custom dungeons, quests and the like. BOI will die out soon unless someone gets a hold of the "new" expansion. Given the time it has been out and the fact no one has had it I doubt that will happen.Quote:

That's partly the reason I stay off skype and similar chat apps that people knew I had. I made the mistake of mentioning I got the Archer files shortly after we "internally" decided to close down. People juuust kept asking for them since then..Quote:

Agreed on the buffoon part. I made my servers simply for coding experience and a general love of the game and that lead to far to much drama than it was worth between complaints from players and a DDoS from another games Dev. though really if these devs were worth half there merit making a class while difficult is far from impossible if they would simply compare files before summoner and after and by process of elimination they could see exactly how that was added and change accordingly.Quote:

While BOI is and always has been a pretty unique game, and eventhough this may sound arrogant as balls, I'd rather see it die than being run by these bafoons currently running servers to date. Hence why I'm not responding to requests or sharing the Archer files.
Some things are eventually better left behind.
I have cult WOI been messing with it forever just don't feel i know the game well enough to put out a server. and personally I can't stand WOI but i did make a promise to give running a WOI server a try as soon as i learned it well enough. I can't honestly say when that will be as I have spent the last 2 months learning the game and still have more questions than answers. Sure from just a player perspective the game is relatively simple but i have to know more than just gear i have to know where things spawn when they spawn what needs improvement what doesnt what i can give players access to things like that.Quote:
I so wish I was able to set a server up myself and host it and afford it. :/ I honestly really believe I would do a great job lol. And if people complained..oh fuckin well. Don't like the rules? Don't wanna comply with the terms of service? The door's there. Don't let it hitcha where the good lord splitcha.
Anyway, I do agree with the things Menoz said entirely. I'm actually glad BOI is dying out. It should have died a long time ago imo. The hilarious thing about BOI servers is that people make so many BOI servers and they die down, and there's barely any WOI servers to speak of. And while alot of people see WOI as a rip off BOI, there's really no question that's half true. Sure, they recycled character classes, city name, a number of maps, but they also came up with their own unique gear system, forting system, pet system, mounts, so many different skills, not to mention the Faith system, and now the Heroic Skills, not to mention...:O YOU CAN CHANGE YOUR CLASS! And yes, in theory be a berzerker/slayer, a hrtc/slayer, whatever combination you can come up with is possible. Really and honestly WOI is a step up from BOI. Unlike BOI WOI gives a newcomer ingame tutorials on interfaces. BOI just sorta throws you into it. Which for some...can be uncomfortable. Yes there are people like that who play games like WOI and BOI and that can be a hindrance to them if they know nothing and are playing a game like that for the first time. No one can deny that.
Yet there is no one who wants to put up a WOI server. For whatever reason so many people put up BOI servers thinking that it's going to last long. I've seen few WOI servers last long. And despite the controversy many have started about it, WOI Destruction has been running for how long? Quite a while...seeing as it's been up for more than two years to my recollection. There is plenty of fun to be had there. And yet BOI server files are apparently easier to come by? Why? What's the point? It's overdone. Someone actually man up and make a good WOI server pl0x.
Anyone arguing that pvp on WOI is broken or bad obviously hasn't played WOI or touched it enough to actually pvp and know what it's like first hand. Hasn't played the game as a normal character instead of setting up a shitty sandbox playground and actually played the game and worked for their shit. I personally feel that if more people gave WOI a chance they'd actually like it. However, I also wouldn't suggest playing on Destruction. I've had bad experiences there personally and wouldn't advise anyone to play there.
Seriously though, there's too much Drama revolving around BOI. Do something else for a change. Might find you actually like it.
As far as the bosses, gear, things like that. I worked a little on that with a couple groups of people before, I'm familiar with alot of the WOI Bosses, spawn times, some odds and ends. I'm not particularly at all talented with Coding. But if it's any first hand or hands on explanations you need about practical ingame stuff, just fire away questions about the game. I know it's not much seeing as I'm not capable of coding, but having someone who knows the game well to talk to can be of help maybe? :)Quote:

Honestly a child could code for these games a few things are slightly complicated but doing what most servers do is EXTREMELY simple especially if you know Excel basics and then the "real" coding of scripts is easy enoughQuote:
