Question about changing items...

my friend made his met look like a DB, not only for him, but for me as well (my files arent edited...erm, my files arent like his files is what I mean =p). it was quite interesting, because he showed it to me every time he did something different (such as having the pic of a DB, but the text of a met xD).

we havent tried upping anything yet, but before we try, any thoughts on if it will work...? We've also been trying to figure out a socketing trick, but to no avail as of yet =p

i dont think it willwork because you are only doing it locally, so not everyones files will be changed only yours so the servers files will not be changed therefore i think this is impossible

but he was able to change a met into a DB, or appear as one anyway, not only for him, but for me as well, and I have a different dat than him...

Mind asking him how he did it?

Most people don't check the names of an item, if i dump 30 DBs into a trade window, they wont look at the name, more then likely. so yeah.. if you can get him to tell you how its done let us know

That would have to be a VERY VERY secret tradehack... or else it will be patched instantly.

dont believe everything somesone talk about...that with the items work so that the client send the unique itemid to the server nothing else and the server forward then the whole informations about that item to the other client while trading or having shop, with drop the unique itemid is also send but the other clients get only the id of the itemtype.dat to show the graphic and when picking up the item the server send the other informations...

it cant be db graphic wif meteor.. impossible!
