Why are all the so-called giudes incomplete?

11/14/2009 22:21 karnyge#1
For several months i have followed every single setting up guide.

Most of them are either corrupt or missing files or contain no information as to what to do when faced with issues.

I have frequently requested help and recieved almost none.
There are no files located around here that contain just the servers- npc, account, and msg, that actually work. Those that are on the guides dont have details on how to make them work if they arent working.

So i humbly request someone who can actually follow these giudes to upload the files i need and msn me the location so i may finally get my server actually working.

Finally, does anyone know whether or not there are issues with setting up a server on XP Pro 64 bit edition.

Funhacker or forcer if you read this I BEG YOU PLEASE HELP ME.
The mods and other staff of the forum, PLEASE I ONLY WANT HELP

As for your problem to be honest i was always someone who worked on pets. THere were others on my team that delt with that stuff. The best person to ask would be forcer or funhacker..wait thats 2 people but you know what i mean.

Yes it will work on 64bit XP Pro (assumption) as I have my test server on my computer (Vista Ultimate 64bit)

As for problems unless people start posting a clean system log I will no longer bother.

A system log is located in syslog NPCServer = NPC Log SZ_Server = MSG Log

that means: Database connection failed!
you have your mysql details incorrect:
1. your login/password is not defined or is wrong in mysql
2. you don't have mysql powered up AT ALL
3. you miss mysql folders named MY and/or ACCOUNT.

fix database connection issues:
1. easy to fix, just go to mysql installation folder and run mysql.exe
1.a. exec exactly this in mysql console:
Code:
grant all on *.* to 'root'@'localhost' identified by 'test';
2. go to computer (right click, manage) go to srvices and search for mysql. if it's not there run cmd.exe and go to mysql installation folder and run "mysqld-nt --install"

3. go to mysql installation folder and make sure that you have "my" and/or "account" folders inside. if you don't you need to put them there, if yes, check the contents.

done all that and gives me this error

Quote:
mysqld> grant all on *.* to `root`@`localhost` indentified by `test`;
ERROR 1064 <42000>: You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near `test` at line 1
