Restricting Server access Via Ping

Hello Epvp People,

Kind of a weird question/request. I want to restrict access to my servers depending on the response time a server receives from a client.
My reasoning for this is, at this point i want to restrict my server to only allow player with a ping of below 200 to join the server in an attempt to provide a server designed for my area, specifically Australia.

I'm not sure if there is a simple code/script or whether doing it via a proxy would be the better option. My only other thought is a custom launcher.

Please if anyone could help me with some suggestions it would be greatly appreciated.

Also i am not looking for THE CODE just the idea on how this is possible.

I'd do it through the launcher, but maybe not out right restrict them? Warn them that their ping will be high. You need to also remember ping displayed in Conquer isn't "true ping" so when you calculate with true ping (by circle routing a timestamped packet like how Conquer does with it's ping packet) it'll be lower then what Conquer displays.

Thanks for the response. I appreciate that the ping will not be a true form however the aim is to create a server based so only members within a select region like Australia can be the only ones to join. I'm targeting mainly the players based in AUS that normally only connect to EU or US servers.

I did think that the restriction would prob be best/easily done via the launcher.

But again thank you for responding.

Keep in mind that

#1: Any interruption to their computer, home network, isp, route they use to connect to you, vps host or vps itself can then cause DCs. You'll want to run it as average ping so you don't boot someone the second they spike to 200+

#2: People play servers for the players... by limiting your players you're actually going to kill off most of the reason to play the server. If it's a 'for friends' type server then why bother trying to filter out other users who wont be connecting anyways?

Awesome thank you Pro.

I guess i will have to survey the game population of Australia. but again thank you for your advice.
