[Question] How do i uninstall windows 10 technical preview?

04/03/2015 21:31 Aaron*#1
Yo guys, I have installed windows 10 technical preview and i thought it is good but after finding out that it does not allow me to play any of my favorite games, i'd like to uninstall it, I googled it a lot and never found any useful answer, all answers were about restarting my pc - selecting windows rollback but i do not have this option, I do not even get it. I had this option before and when i tried it, it required a USB Drive with 16GB+ free space and I do not even have a USB drive, however, I do not get this option anymore, any suggestions?

If you want to install Windows 7 or 8.1 you need something with the OS on it. A USB Stick, a DVD or 2000 Floppy Disks :p :D

Than simply boot from the Stick/DVD and install youre favorite OS.

Just run the setup type in your key and done!

Theres another option too:
Make your USB Stick bootable:
Open CMD as admin.
Type in the commands below in the right order!

1. list disk
2. select disk (select your usb stick, drive 0 or drive 1)
3. clean (everything will be deleted so copy your important files to your HDD)
4. create partition primary
5. select partition=1
6. active
7. format fs=fat32
8. assign

Now your usb stick is like a DVD.
Copy your windows iso file to the USB stick:

Restart your PC.
While its turining on press F2 or F8, you will get to the BIOS
now change the BOOT ORDER and set the USB STICK to the first BOOT OPTION.
Restart again:
now the windows setup will begin and thats it.

You guys know the purpose of a technical preview? It btw. loggs alls keystrokes, voice and cam input and sends it to microsoft. It sends it anonymously for sure. But it is meant for developers and testers. The setup even tells you NOT TO USE IT AS A LIVE SYSTEM.

DO NOT USE WINDOWS 10 TECH PREVIEW AS A LIVE SYSTEM!!

Wait for its release. Windows 8.1 is fine. There is no reason for using Windows 10 yet. It is unstable and a lot of drivers aren't even working properly.

just my two cents...

@OP: As Krotus already told you: you need a CD/DVD/USB or anything for reinstalling Windows
