Packet editing with WPE PRO

I recently gouged my way through google and gained some "tip of the iceberg" info on packet editing. My first step was to get wpe pro and attach it to dekaron.exe just like CE. however, it appears that dekaron.exe doesnt actually send/recieve packets... I'm either doing something wrong or assuming that dekaron.exe sends/recieves info from other client side files that in turn send/recieve over the internet.

So... I'd love to just ask someone to teach me packet editing but I've read enough of these forums to know that nobody will do that because they struggled and I should to. But, could you give me a starting place? for instance what file to attach to or what im missing to start seeing pretty numbers in wpe pro.

When i hook it on to firefox and browse it works so i know the program is working.

edit:
I forgot to mention I did find a modified version of wpe pro but havent tried it because if at all possible I like to stay as pure as I can. If I need the modified version then i understand.

In wpepro you have to go view/option and where it says winsock 1.1 click the drop down arrow and select winsock 2.0. You should be able to collect 2moons packets now!
Oh and yes dekeron is the right prosses

Also it is useless if you just use WPE to capture packet since all incoming/outgoing 2moons's packet are decrypted.

I don't believe that the only thing I need to packet edit is wpe pro... is that what you meant?

I realized I will need to learn some other things before being able to make my own packets to send.

Any small practical list of tools would be helpful but for now I just wanted to be able to watch the packets and do things in game to try to maybe find some of the things I will want to pull for further analysis.

Ty for the winsock info, perfect.

he means the packets sent and received are encrypted, the client and server then decrypt them and read the info then encrypt the packet the ready send back out. if you want a packet editor/sender that will work for 2moons you're gonna have to create your own, that will decrypt the packets then when you change the packets how you want when you send it encrypts them.

I've done more research and I'm not sure I would have to create my own but I need to do a lot of work:
