Problem with S4 League after updating to Windows 8.

Hello.
Yesterday I turned on my HP laptop, but it kept auto-restarting on boot-up. So I had to install windows again. I had lost my Windows 7 disk, so I installed Windows 8. After the installation finished, I went to Windows.old and retrieved the S4 League folder. I ran it, but it's TOO slow. Unplayable really. So I deleted it and re-downloaded it from the internet. And it's still too slow and unplayable. I tried "troubleshooting compatibility", changed it to Windows 7, Vista and even XP compatibility but it's still the same. It was working just fine on Windows 7. What's the problem? And how can I fix it?

Thanks in advance. :)

Lol, I don't know why people hate Windows 8. I loved everything, just some games run pretty slow.

I can't say I heard of any objective reasons to use it at free will.
