You are right it's not a big deal. Shopping mall has everything both those NPC's have. And in some sources when you add GreatMerchant it screws with your ShoppingMall.

it has nothing to do with the source except for one file which is shop.dat, and if you do it right in the client then you would do it right in the source. The only other part is the database....

use search, Mr_PoP released a patch for busterblade,ring,and the garments (only 2 of them work)
