[QUESTION] Server on Virtual Server?

Is it possible to purchase a Virtual Server (easyspace) ect and then install a Dekaron Private server to it?

Yes you can you can use any type of virtual server that supports pagefileing, make sure you message them to ask that. you can use easyspace, photonvps, and others as long as u have a remote login via, remote desktop, vnc, or teamviewer

I have hosted servers with VPS for years for not only dekaron but loong power of the dragon, aion, and silk road.

People that say nothing works, wont help, or say ungodly specs that are not needed unless your running a nuclear plant just doesnt want new servers to get on the market due to these facts.

1. They want all the players to there selves.
2. They couldnt get stuff to work so why should anyone else.
3. They QQ on everytime something goes wrong and blames everyone but themself.

starting out you dont need a dedicated remote server. i would stick with a VPS until your server gets bigger.

kasuma11 is absolutely right. There are many VPS servers out there that give you admin access to the server though RDP. However, it's not cheap! It will cost you around $250 to $300 per month but it can be done.

for $300 you can get a dedicated server with 16gb of ram, so why waste ur money on a VPS? most of the time those things are ran on shared systems, which means you dont even get the max resources as stated, hence the name 'VIRTUAL' server, its not an actually server.

yeah, u can run it on 8GB of ram, hell you can run it on 4GB of ram with 8GB paging file, but just because you can start it and log on to AN account, doesnt mean you can call it any sort of server, get 10 ppl on 6GB of ram and have a huge lag party all night long, grab you a drink while waiting to take the next step, you will have time

Ok you only need a $50 - 80 VPS, which useually has a Dual to Quad Xeon 3GHZ cpu, and 6 to 8GB ram. You dont need something out of this world starting out. I would personally look around for a server that has Unlimited Monthly bandwidth, 8GB ram or more which is optional. and 80GB harddrive or larger. just take it with a strive and take your time get a basic VPS within those specs.

just the back ups alone (if you are smart and are making back-ups. . . . ) would eat that 80 up in a month or less, then lag will be pleasant compared to how the server would run after a few back-ups

seriously, if ur gonna spend 80 a month for a shit vps, may as well spend 120 to get a dedi, and bandwidth? really? you could have 50+ players on playing all day and night and not even consume 400gb a month, most dedis come with 4000gb minimum a month thats included in the price.

VPS solutions are used by large businesses around the world. Dedicated static IP and unlimited bandwidth are expensive from an ISP. It means a business plan which is at least $100.00 per month. Then you need to buy the server, OS, SQL Server etc. Many VPS packages come with SQL Server already. In some countries a static IP is insanely expensive. All depends on where you are. Rising is on VPS.

80 GB harddrive is good enough, on my server i use a remote backup system anyways that off sets all my backups to my 100GB skydrive accounts and also my home PC. prices for VPS can run dekaron servers can range for $75 to $250 depending on what country your wanting your server, features, and how many ip's you want. I would just go basic for now, and expand as you go. Most VPS services will expand your harddrive and features since they are only virtual when u upgrade in the future not hurting your current setup.
