Hi All the senior members and gurus here. I had been seraching around this forum and found nothing about capacitiy topic.
Therefore i created this treat to ask for opinion for capacity requirement.

Questions? Be it binary, lotf, coemu c#,

what kind of requirement is needed?

Example bandwidth, cpu and memory.

What ia the guideline for 100 players, 500 players and 1000 or more...

Please share your knowledge with us it would be greatly appreciated.

My friend had a server running binary, but his players are getting dced at around 70+-. His server is powered with core 2 dual with 2gb ram purely hosting sql and game server only with 4mbps up load connections and 10mbps burstable.

Your advise would good for everyone to know.

Thank you.

i can't positively answer honestly on this question, (i've never run bins), but when you're loading dmaps into your server, note that they take a LOT of ram when starting it up. most popular bins that are public (servers like lastco, etc) are run on dedicated servers ($$monthly), and i believe they host on probably like.. 100 mbps, but like i said, i've never run bins or used a dedi, so this is not for sure.

I'm not sure about your friend, but I ran a 5065 on the following vps
1. Intel Quad 3.1 or 3.3 ghz
3 Gig Ram
1mb/1mb
It sucked. Server takes 10min to load up.

2. Intel Core 2 Duo 2.8 Ghz
512 Ram
100mb Connection with speedtests resulting in around 84/64.
Server loaded up in 2min and was very good.
dehost.de i think

As for bandwidth, not really sure as it depends on the amount of players online.
Best thing to do is buy the add-on with usually allowed 5gb or unlimited amount of bandwidth.
