If it's split up correctly you won't only need this one byte, but the 7 following as well.
The only thing with 8 byte that comes to my mind right now is the Variance(aka white stats of a weapon), but I'm really not sure if(and why!) the client would send this to the server. Did you try it with a different item to see what changes?

And is it still the packet for moving an Item in the inventory to a different slot?
