Please help. Running Archeage in VMware.

Hi folks,

I've been struggling the last few days to get Archeage to run in VMware. My setup is:

- Windows 8.1 x64 host
- Windows 7 x86 guest (or x64 guest, tried both)
- VMware Workstation 10.0.4

I have tried multiple guides:

- [Only registered and activated users can see links. Click Here To Register...]
- [Only registered and activated users can see links. Click Here To Register...]
- [Only registered and activated users can see links. Click Here To Register...]

All of which say basically the same few things:

- Install the standalone DirectX
- Delete or rename all registries with "VMware SVGA 3D" as a data value
- Edit the .vmx file and add a few lines (each guide has a slight variation)

And tada, everything works. Unfortunately, I've tried all of these combinations without any luck. Maybe it's VMware 10.0.4 (bleeding edge), or maybe it's something else?

As soon as HackShield starts up, it must detect something, because it opens my browser to the HackShield support page.

Anyways, any help would be greatly appreciated. I've spent more time that seems necessary on this :(

It seems lots of people are able to successfully run Archeage in VMware though (check out some of the tutorial links I provided).

So, surely it's possible?

Thanks!

I've been running AA under VMWare for a couple months now, even with the latest Vmware 11 version. Steps If I can remember them.

Win 8.1 x64.

-rename in registry vmware svga to radeon 7850
-there was one registry that had %oem% something in it, one of the guides would have it.
-modify the vmx to add the 4 lines from the guide.
-do not install vmware tools.

How far into loading does it go?

Silver is there anyway you could post screen shots of how you got this to work; I tried to get it to work for a couple days now; I created a Fresh VM; and When I go to launch the game; I get the Message game can not be ran in a virtual machine. Any help would be great.

Windows 7 profession VMware 11. Direct x installed
I am running a GTX 750ti Graphic card 16g ram
AMD mother board; 6 core Phenom 2 processor; SSd Drive; I have pleanty of computing power and memory for this; Anything you could suggest would be great screen shots would be most helpful or possible a video.

Here is my whole vmx code. Lines 105-112 are the only ones added IIRC.

Using regedit in the VM, replace all forms of VMWare SVGA 3D with the name of the card you actually own. (For example, I am using a GTX 750 so mine was renamed GTX 750).
Once you stumble upon a key that resembles this: @oem9.inf;%svga%;VMware SVGA 3D, you are unlikely to make it to change while you are booted into the OS on the guest. This means you need something like Offline Registry Editor and/or Hiren’s boot CD.

This really is all I did, and have 2 vm's running.
