[Request] 5165 server player editing

Is there any ways to edit a player? Like, if I want to make a GM or PM without actually making a whole new character, or if I want to take it away without deleting the whole account?

Of course you can. I assume you're using NCOS though (eww, don't it's a waste of time) but even with a flatfile database you can quite easily modify characters/accounts. Keep in mind the files are flatfile and cannot be edited nicely. Either use a hex editor to modify them cleanly or write a simple tool to let you modify them using a winform.

There's no reason to waste time working with NCOS honestly... it's such a mess that you're going to spend 10x as much time tweaking it and patching all of it's fun little bugs than you would just coding some of it's 'features' into a stable base.

We're also to the point where the 'base' sources are actually pretty damn feature filled. ProjectX, COPS v7 and Redux all support pretty much all TQ content.

Perhaps I will try another source, I have used NCOS before and I am not too impressed with its bugs. Thanks for the help.

PS: Hex editor didn't help. It just failed to login til i changed it back.
