[HELP]Obj texture replacement

10/14/2009 04:32 xylca#1
I was trying to replace an existing item(i.e: armor) to another item by replacing its textures (that includes also replacing of skel ,mesh , anim an so on..) after replacing those I found out that the item turned pink (was that the "non-object"?) .. though I've tried also returned back the previous set-up but nothing happens... it is still the same

what did I missed?... any helpful comments & suggestions will be appreciated...

look to itemshape.csv

make sure that you have it all correct, if ur texture pack is not defined there, and/or ur texture pack is not pointing to the dds file, then u get a nice pink item to sport ;)

restore the original files, and this time do it the correct way, never overwrite standard files, just make new files and point to them in the csv's

every item needs to have an entry in itemshape.csv, and it has to have a texturepack as well, it wasnt a suggestion, u have to have it.

yes... that's what I wanted to say, though you can set/point @ the mesh(es) , tpacks files from the csv ,i think you would still need to replace some files like the meshs' corresponding textures , etc ... (correct me if I'm wrong :D)

hmm confused now

you mean:

a) you are replacing one items files, with another, just naming the new item files the name of the old item files?

or

b) you are copying files from an item, and making a new item, with the copies?

Another scenario but related topic (I guess...so I will also put it here)

I was trying to put or apply the hair of incar to segnale(just trying) but after doing it the result is, the hair is not fitted well to its head, there was also portion of blanks(or it looks like holes onto its head) the face were also affected and it was dis aligned with its head shape...

any helpful comments are appreciated as well :o

You would have to edit either the skel file( to make the centerpiece of the head fit on the neck), or edit the mesh file, and keep the center at the same place, just move the whole head to one side.
You know what I mean?
