error ....Failed to connect to game server

hey all,

SOLVED!!

anyone else with this issue just ask and ill post an explantion

i keep getting this error ...

Code:
Failed to connect to game server
[Only registered and activated users can see links. Click Here To Register...]

this error only happens to external people ..... the server is in DMZ as the ports were being a bitch so i put it there so ports SHOULD not be an issue ...

my other pm is on the local network (he is using a different computer to the server) to the server and he can connect so I'm guessing the server is still sending a 129.xxx.xxx.xxx address ....

i have tried everything i found and could think of including this

  1. Open your Server Manager and stop all servers (Control Service > Shutdown All Server Service)
  2. Change IP addresses to correct ones
  3. Click on Server Update > Update to all server (exe, data files, and ini files)
  4. When dialog appears click OK
  5. Wait until all (update...) signs on left will be gone
  6. Close Server Manager
  7. Go to folder D:\SHAIYA_SERVER\SERVER\PSM_Client\Bin\Config\ and check each ini file to make sure that IP addresses and other stuff are set correctly
  8. If everything is ok then start your Server Manager
  9. Then click on Control Service > Start All Server Service
  10. Wait until server starts and check if problem is fixed

Q: Why would I check ini files?
A: Sometimes there is problem with saving/updating them, so better to check one more time

P.S. It helped me when I had "failed to connect to game server!!!" error, not sure if 100% will help you.

Where is Server manager ?? Please tell me becouse I can't play shaiya now :(

Check all your IP's, ports and exceptions. This is an error cause by the game.exe not connecting to your server. (IP address wrong or blocked/denied)

I have same problem.
If I set the External IP, all play, except me.
If I put 127.0.0.1 I connect, but not others.
The third step suggested does not work for me:>> Click on Server Update> Update to all server (exe, data files, and INI files)>> It gives me the following Message: Disable Update.

when i did this and updated i got all red X's and i dnt know how to fix it (i've tried most of the solutions in other threads). do you know how to fix this? thanks in advance

This is a very old thread, you would have been better off using the search, or starting a new topic if you cudnt find your answer. But this particular error has been answered a fair amount of times. 1 search gives you over 10 answers for it, so use it.

Be more specific about your error, look at your logs.. USE THE SEARCH!
