Referrals Bans

Well I totally forgot I had 150 referrals on my main account already.

And I totally forgot about using smurfs to gift to myself.

Now my main account is sitting on 350 referrals and I'm scared of a ban. Should I just not redeem the rewards until the very last day or something?

And have a lot of people gotten banned on smurfs for ordering 100-200 referrals? I'm planning on loading up 1-3 smurfs with RP and redeeming rewards on the last day of 2.0 or something.

Let me know your stories of referral bans if you've ever received any. The last time I ordered referrals was like early 2013, and I've heard they've gotten a lot more strict about the RAF abuse.

It doesn't change anything at all when you redeem the rewards. I got 100 refs on my main for 5 months and no ban. My smurf just got 100 today too. The banchance is almost non existent. Using smurfs with the referrals is the "safest" option, because if this account gets banned it doesn't affect your main except the removed things the smurf gifted. The other problem is that you don't get the ip if you buy the refs on the smurf, if you haven't got all champs, almost all runes and runepages.

Got another question about this topic, dont want to open a new thread just for it so i ask here.

Is it safe to open normal support tickets from accounts with botted refs?

Yeah, my main account doesn't need IP anymore so I used referral smurfs back in 2013/2012. But I COMPLETELY forgot and ordered 200 for my main. Ugh.. it's a better deal to get it on smurfs too (26975 instead of 20000 RP).

But since I've done some searching and referral bans seem pretty rare.. I think I'll order 200 more for my smurf.

Imo it's better to buy 200 referrals on 2 accounts instead of one, 100 refs on each account. You will get more rp, 2x 17k rp instead of 1x 27k rp and lower chance getting banned on the smurfs.

I agree with this. I wouldnt wait till last day before they update RaF to redeem rewards.

Don't worry. The banchance is still low and Riot doesn't really care about referral bots atm because the new system will be released soon.

I botted around 4k refs (100-250 each account) and none of the accounts got banned yet.
Also the rewards are still on them ;) Don't worry.
