How to reach your server when using dynamic IP adress

10/17/2014 21:11 killerflood#1
Hello all,

How can i make it possible to reach my gameserver from the same network when i use a dynamic internet connection?

i heard that you can only run the server on 1 ip adress, so you cannot login with the same dynamic iP adress.

Sorry for my bad english:)

Hope to hear soon:)

Greetings,

Killerflood

And What's the point?

the point would be Exorcist, if your not willing to help others then please keep your smart-ass comments to your self , thank you , i have read your smart ass remarks on almost every question ask on here and its always the same , 4 or 5 words up to maybe a half a line with nothing of value ever to say to actually help anyone but yet you reply to every post on here so if your not going to help someone then please shut the hell up and let the big boys actually help those who are asking for it .

now KillerFlood , yes it is possible and there are several ways , one you can use Virtual Machine to make a second host , or Hyper-V depending on what server you are using or more comfortable with , you can also use Hamachi but that limits your connections unless you pay for it or you can get the program No-IP . then you can use either one of those 4 ways to connect but dont forget if your using an actual server to go into control panel to system advanced settings to DEP and add your client so it will allow the client to run off its self . i hope this actually helps you.

You didn't get it, did you?
Reaching your server from the same machine is pointless why would you need it anyway.

PS: 'Big Boys' that sounded really bad. lmfao

most likey testing or updating the client dierctly so they dont have to reupload the whole thing , or running system error checks , there is always a number of reasons why , in fact i have 2 virtual servers runing on my main server just for testing so i dont have to crash the main server and test updates before i give them out and they have to connect to each other . or he may be hosting the server on his own PC like allot of others do and if its his only machine he can host but not play on it and needs to connect it to its self.

Heard of automatic update @ SMC? and again it's just pointless if he doesn't have a very good server / pc to run those virtual machine he would end up crashing it.
PS: If he's hosting a sv from his pc then he should quit developing.

mtnman33 thanks for your respond.
Im going to try it.

Excorsist, i dont know where you read that i use the same machine to play with?
I've got 2 machines. 1 machine, there is running the server on and machine 2 is my game machine. They are connected to the same modem(so both machines get the same dynamic IP adress. i cant say that i am a good developer i will not say that as well, i just like it to modify a server so i can play with friends on it ;).
Not everyone wants a server to get released for public usage.

NVM, already think that i got it.

PHconnector should work i think.
