Question about e-gold purchase

i hear from every 1 here on the forums that 1$=50 e-gold but 1 euro for me is only 26 how is that possible?

Also remember that you are not allowed to sell e*g for real money, unless you got the Premium or Elite*Gold Trader rank (latter one can be obtained by buying at least 260 e*g from the system).
