Reviving Shaiya Together!

Greetings, dear Elitepvpers and entire shaiya players' world!
Lately, we have been becoming direct witnesses of the great fall of the entire Shaiya community, the reasons are many and deep.
We have got a new team with a complete different way of thinking, which wants to give another chance to the game as a whole.
With a view to offer the best features to our players, we have decided to make this post in order to see what the Shaiya players are missing in the game, so that we create our server according to their wishes.

List of issues:
1. Game's Design( Let us know which episode's design elements were the best according to you, and/or what new elements you would like to see or not to see as a part of the entire design - this includes maps, AH, items, gears, pvp ranks etc ).
2. Game's Orientation ( We'd like to know which kind fits you the best, a complete pvp server or a well-mixed and balanced one of PvPvE ).
3. Kill Count ( A fair kill count or something above x2 ).
4. Leveling ( Would you like to taste again that sweet feeling of 'dinging' by leveling manually or having your toons instantly leveled makes you feel more comfortable? )
5. Lapis ( Having dozens of lapis kinds makes you uber? Or having the well-balanced original ones? )

Until today none asked directly what you, the players actually want. Today we're asking you, and we need your opinion, because it's important for us in order to create the right game server, desired by you!

Unfortunately these questions have been asked many times, and the problem with these posts are that the players of Shaiya are so varied and different these days, that you will get 100 different answers, each with their own 'unique' twist.

There is no "one perfect server" nor one perfect style to make a server up as. It will never please the entire community, nor the majority of the community.
The main problems with Shaiya today, is that it is Shaiya. It's a hugely outdated game, with no real ways of becoming modernized due to it's coded limits. You can only do so much that is "new" with it, and many times those 'new' things do not work properly, or are not fully enjoyed / appreciated by the players that are around these days.

So unless you are planning on making 10 mini servers to cater to each small section of wants/needs for each sectional group of players... you wont get so much great feedback with those questions. Good luck to you :)

I agree with what Truth1010 said. I however, would like to see a Shaiya that has the latest ep content, etc. but with an ep 2 like feel. In other words, no raid system, because raids create lazy, incompetent, afk leechers that hurt the pvp experience. Ppl that play nowadays lack the very basic fundamentals of how to actually play as a unit (6 - 7 party members). They don't know their toons' roles and always leave their healers vulnerable to attack from mobs or other players. No ele 2 lapises, no enchants, no rec runes, no gm rerolls.

I think if those things are elimated, then alot of the veteran players of ep 2 and 3 and 4 would gladly come back and play. And as far as kills go, it should be 1 death = 1 kill. Not this 1 death = 150 - 200 kills is rediculous. Far too many ppl want to rank up so fast and yet, can't play for shit.

With lapises ofc no enchanting but only up to lvl 5 lapis. I feel that anything above lvl 5 lapis is too much.

Have a combination of quests and grinding. And don't do bosses to obtain gears. That too can stagnate the performance of the server. Gears = stats and it's the stats that hurt. All of these servers, stats make a very big difference. So have ppl do quests to obtain gears ( again no bosses). Have bosses for obtaining and increase of kill count. Like a kill count amplifier or booster. Something other than gears.

Strictly regulate the economy. Peple nowadays jack up prices so much that it is almost impossible to farm the gold one needs to buy things. Greedy ppl are also a problem. Either strictly control prices and give penalties for ppl who jack up prices. For example, let's say I want to buy a pair of gaunts and the npc price is 1,500,000 gold. I got to the AH board and see the same gaunts priced at 1,000,000,000 gold. Rediculous! I would prevent that from happening by either eliminating the AH board and using the npc merchants or giving ppl ultimatums either lower the prices or it gets eliminated. Or, controling the pricing from the AH board to no more than 10% higher than it's original price. This way , ppl don't have to spend an eternity farming. The less farming the better because alot of us do have lives beyond this game.

So that's just my little two cents.
