Its not possible to scam anymore since there is an email-verification inside the account on the league of legends site itself. If you didnt verify your email yet, just do it and feel free to try to change your password on the league of legends site - you will automatically receive an email to the verified email-address; without the link inside the verified email address no one can change the password.
