I'm sorry but I don't see the point of this post/thread at all.
Yes, it can be annoying that some people ask for thanks at every little given time, however within certain circumstances, it can be considered thanks begging and they will get a warning/infraction regarding it.
Along with that, even though they ask for it, does that mean they should get one? In my perspective, I'm more likely to give a thanks to someone who didn't ask for thanks then someone who did. I'm also sure that may apply to people here as well. Someone could post the most amazing program in the world but if they ask for thanks, I won't give one. Why? It's up to the user to give a thanks, not the person who says so. They shouldn't feel pressured to give someone a thanks just because they said so.
Overall, depending on the case you can get punished for "begging for thanks" in a retrospect, but at the same time people should think about just doing useful things for the sake of it rather than asking for them (and their only aim is thanks). This is my opinion of course, it may be an unpopular one or a popular one.
Guess I rambled on a tad here, my bad! Just felt like saying my opinion on this sort of case.
Anyway, I'm closing it as there is no real meaning for this thread. It's not related to DarkOrbit, nor does the post have any proper meaning to it.
