[Question] How to reset SQL Password?

as thread title says .. i forgot my sql 2012 pw and i don't want to re-install it ..
anyone knows a simple way to reset sql pw please share it

  1. Download [Only registered and activated users can see links. Click Here To Register...] on your local PC, install and launch it.
  2. Click the Open File button. Select the SQL Server master database file (master.mdf). Typically it is located in the folder: C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL.1\MSSQL\Data.

  3. The program will automatically decrypt the master database file and display all user accounts in your SQL Server. Select the SA account, click the Change Password button. Type a new password and click OK.

go to cmd
and following the next steps
1.osql -S YourSqlName\SQLEXPRESS -E
2.sp_password NULL, 'insert_new_password_here', 'sa'
3.go

or you can just login with your windows account...

the easiest way is...

login with Windows Authentication

and run this query:
