After seeing posts of people saying that the encryption is too hard to break and that TQ has added some kind of a server side anti-bot protection, and not seeing any new posts about botting and stuff, it kinda looks this topic about botting on public servers is pretty much dead. Anyone knows what's going on precisely; what is this new protection?? Is that even true?

Yes. It is dead. ConquerAI was the only bot that was able to keep up with it. You can still get it... but it's private. Botting the official servers is dead for all new people coming in.

as far as i understand this, a proxy doesn't need to be hooked(maybe i'm wrong). isn't this like:
client <--> [proxy] <--> server ?
That proxy is just a mediator between the server and client and only intercepts and modifies the packets?

But you need to hook the client in order to make it send the packets to proxy instead of server.
