[Guide] Where to Host Your Server

I've compiled a short list of hosting providers I or my team mates used / use and trust. The following hosting providers have proven to be trustworthy and able to be used as game server hosts.

By far the best bet if you have a MSDN Subscription without it you pay slightly more. You sign up, chose a monthly spending limit and you can use it to boot up as many virtual servers as you want and get billed on a hourly base. Thats nice if you want to boot up more than one server in different Locations (east - west coast, Europe, Asia) Shut it down and you wont spend anything anymore. It has a huge repertoire on additional services eg. Webhosting or Online Storage.

I've been using XSServer for countless projects in the past and I was really really happy with the performance and uptime, I've had no problems with it but the price. It's rather expensive but you get what you pay for.

My current sponsor. He doesn't really bother with non business grade customers. His website has been down for quite a while now "This site is down for maintenance" his alias for "mail me" ... I've been using his servers free of charge for almost a year now. EternalConquer has its servers (Web, Co2) hosted there too. His pricing model is individual, you get exactly what you want and pay just so much for it. Even if you can't pay in time the servers stay Online and working for as long as you need to pay (but not more than 30 days) thats perfect for people who are dependent on donations. Pricing seems right. Got my one day trial server within 2 hours and im really happy with the speed. They canceled my server within 12 hours tho.. I did not take screenshots in time but the Read/Write speed on the HDD was at over 140 mb each also the net speed was above 300 up and 400 down on 2ms ping.

Price is right, multiple locations in the US and one German Location.
Great setup: You can add IP's SSD Space, RAM,...

Test Server worked very well! Just as SkyTearz said 600+ Up/down speed and a perfect Ping!

IT-InTime.de is really one of the best hosts out there, Talk about network speed, Performance, Support and ease of access. Really I've been around for a few years now switching from a host to another but this one I can tell that it's one of the best if it's not the best out there already. I recommend this host to anyone willing to have his server see the light of day. Even that speed test posted in that thread was done while eternal conquer had full functionality and full stress load.

Guess what? We still have Eternal's VPS running.

And yes, it is one of the best hosts out there, if it was not the best already.

I find nfoservers.com to be one of the best in the US. Speedtests yields 500+/500+ every time and they have great peering agreements so people that normally would get very high ping don't as often.

The website looks fishy. Loads damn slow and the hardware they use is highly questionable. They also denied me a one day trial.

True, the website does indeed load fast now. I had some minor internet issues last time. However, a AMD FX (Desktop Processor) is slow on its own compared to the Xeon's hosters usually use has horrible performance but okay.

Well I bought from them for like 7-8 months and my server never got down, even with some DDOS attacks received. Awesome support (Always answer your questions within 1 hour). The delivery time is kinda long but you get the time you paid for from the time you can connect on the server. I was hosting a CO2 server with a pretty good amount of players online and never had more than 250 ping. With speedtest it was never under 500 MBps (With the 1GB burstable option.

You can use a VPS and/or Dedicated Server for anything, it is basically a computer you pay for that is for 99% online which is mainly used to host game and/or web servers.

Almost everything is out of stock. Also your server is lagging badly and its pure garbage. Sorry, the lag is a fact and the quality my opinion.
