Is there a server status code ?

Hi, i like to go on my friends runescape private servers, when i say private i actually mean private, it's not public just close friends and some other people that go on them and i would really like to put a code on my website that tells me when there servers are online and offline etc

Basically something like this:
[Only registered and activated users can see links. Click Here To Register...]

but just for my friends private servers, does anyone know how to do it ?

If you want to use your own PHP-Script for retrieving the server status, you can use the function fsockopen().
