What is your system configuration? Press Start + R, type in "msinfo32" and you'll see your system's information. Go to File->Export, and save it as a text file. Attach it to your next post. Also, press Start + R, type in "dxdiag" and you'll see your system's DirectX Diagnostics. Click "Save all information" and attach that text file to your next post as well. That'll help us better understand what's going on. Thanks.

Well, you don't have any dedicated graphics card. Your system is pretty beast besides that though, so it's possible that it's the client being lame. You can try this: [Only registered and activated users can see links. Click Here To Register...]. It doesn't rely on any hooks, so it shouldn't give you problems with their anti-bot. If that doesn't work, try installing DirectX 8.1 or 9. If that doesn't work as well, then you could look into a dedicated graphics card... though your computer shouldn't be the problem. Good luck.

I didn't really expect it to, but it was worth a try. Alright, I'm going to have you try something that worked for me, but first I want to explain why it might work. The problem is, Conquer Online is poorly programmed. They load all assets from the hard drive upon first use (which would be fine if that loading process didn't freeze the game and drop frames). So no matter what, you will get a bit of frame drops from that. The biggest problem, however, is that DirectX 11 is not compatible with Conquer Online. That's my theory at least.

So, here's what I'm going to have you try. We're going to force your computer to use a lower version of DirectX to run Conquer Online - and we do that by setting the compatibility mode to Windows 98/ME. That should make it default to DirectX 9 or below. Also, make sure that the DirectX 9C end user runtime is installed. If you have Windows 8 (or an OS around there), you might not need to install it. I just tried it on my computer (that uses DirectX 11 as well as Windows 8), and it worked for me. My frame rate has improved dramatically. Try doing a before and after - run around the market and have things load, then change the compatibility mode and tell me how it fairs. If it goes well for you, then I'll make a thread about it for others, because this is a common problem. It's not just you.

Not really, Conquer.exe is statically linked to use d3d8.dll, version 8 of DirectX, so it won't even run if DirectX 8 isn't installed. Also, it won't ever try to load DirectX 11.

Well, theory is out of the window then. *shrugs*
Compatibility mode seems to work on my computer at least.

It worked perfectly for me... then again, I'm running Windows 8.1. Perhaps that influences it? I would like to gain some feedback from the original poster about setting the compatibility mode to Windows 98/ME.

What a weird game. Have you tried contacting TQ about this?
