Mobs As Mounts (question)

I've tried to put mobs as mounts by replacing the 3d and dds files and the results were crappy. As far i know there is no way in fixing this thing (and i m a scripting nub :( )

so i was wondering if someone might have found a way with other programs like 3DOC to convert the mob files into mount ones and will like to share it with the comunity

I don't believe it is possible due to the x,y,z needed for where the characters sit on the mounts.
Very few, if any mobs are actually set at the right height / shape to hold a player on, so you usually just end up half inside the mob, or floating far above it.
Also, as of yet, there is no way of converting the mob or mount 3D files (3DC)
We only have access to converting Item 3d files (3DO) with a program that you need to have licensed.

Yes its possible. You can edit any mob to mount, you need 3DOC with 3DC convert module to work with it. I dont have it, ask TeddyBear for download link.
You need right offset to make them work, but anyway, its possible, just do it, lol

for make a mob as mount u need to add the ANI files too from Monster/ANI to Veichle/ANI (with correct name to the .MON).

The problem stay about the position, it can be wrong or the toon can be invisible as said by Stinka123.

In a old post where we discussed this point there is come out that the problem is in the .ANI files from Character/../ANI and Vehicle/ANI, the same problem that stay for the owl. I'm not sure about but if the problem was in the 3DC someone could solve it before. Then if work only editing 3DC will give a lot of new possibility for the mounts and I'm the first that is interested about!

Editing the 3DC would bring a lot of new opportunities, but you would have to edit the offset position for where the "mount" is used (as the player sits in the same offset regardless of mount, i believe) For each individual mob you wanted to use as a mount, and most, if not all mobs would in theory need a different offset value to work perfectly.

The .Ani itself shouldn't be too big a problem as the rough movements of mounts and mobs should close enough match, as long as the positions are roughly the same, it wont look too unusual.

And again, i don't believe the current release (or the 3DC test version) of the 3DOC tool works with all types of 3DC's. Only Helmets from what Teddy has stated.
