Hi guys,

I have a free VPS for 2 years. And i want to create a rappelz private server on it and use it. I entered to VPS, there is a desktop win98 right now. I know how to create a private server but i dont know what must i do to create on vps. Can someone help please?

Will i need to transfer all server files and sql server 2012 or what?

Are you sure it's windows 98 ? or just its interface ? Rappelz servers require at least windows xp (sometimes windows 2000 works but not all versions)

SQL server 2000 might work on win98 ([Only registered and activated users can see links. Click Here To Register...])

I could not imagine the head-ache trying to run Rappelz on win98 would cause. I'd stick with Glandu's recommendation of XP+

it can be its only interface but i dont know what to do exactly. I created a server on my localhost. Is it same to create one on vps?

yes it's the same, but only allow required port in your firewall for incoming connections, see there: [Only registered and activated users can see links. Click Here To Register...]

Managing a public server requires some skills to avoid bad things, so be careful (there are many bot computers and malicious users that will connect your server and try things like php attacks, don't leave a port open to a misconfigured server or to something you don't want like the telnet interface of rappelz servers)

And I doubt you have something older than a windows server, if you really have windows 98, it's a desktop OS and have probably many known security issues. You can see the OS version by opening computer's properties (or via shortcut: Win + Pause)
