Mount .dds problem.

07/05/2014 22:33 RaamKiller#1
Hello guys.

I got an error, I don't know why. I've added a recolor mount of Blue Armored Unicorn (.dds and .3DC files are in the data) but while I'll use the mount, the mount got the .dds file of the Blue Armored Unicorn, and not the recolor.

But when I change in the "Vehicle_Hu_01" and change the .dds file for the Blue Armored Unicorn for the recolored .dds, the two mount got the .dds recolored.

If anyone know why, thx so much. :)

Check your Vehicle_**.MON in Data\Vehicle
And also check model of your mount. Open it using shstudio (Castor)

Thx for your answer.

Unfortunaly, i've already checked all files, try to import them again, but didn'ts work.
All files seems to be ok (in my side), in the past i've already done this and work, so that why I don't understand.

Cant tell clearly from your description of the problem.. but did you create a new mount in the .MON file, or did you just overwrite your new dds over the existing unicorn?

He didnt edit mon file, just repalce dds, i said check your Mon file doesnt mean just look at that file.

did u imported the dds file in your data.sah? i know it seems stupid but it happens sometines that ppl forget to do it and only save it in the extracted files folder. if u already did it try 2 things:
1: open data.sah. right click on the dds folder in vehicle and import the dds.
2: open data.sah. go in vehicle/DDS and search for the file u wanna import over. right click. import file

i had some problems with that because my client is itchy in importing directly into the folder so i hope u have the same problem. if not i don t know what to do.

REMEMBER TO KEEP A CLEAN data.sah BAKUP FILE!

From what i read in his first post, he does actually say he edited the .Mon file.

The .Mon file for Human mounts is named "Vehicle_Hu_01".
So my question to RaamKiller was, did you insert a new line (mount) into the Human Mount .Mon file to define your recolored Unicorn, or did you just replace the existing Unicorn data with your own.

If you just replaced, then yes, both the mount items (original + your recolor) would show to be whatever the latest DDS in your files is.

You need to add a new line to your .Mon file so the original unicorn shows with it's default data of:
vehicle_Hu_06.3DC | | vehicle_Hu_06.dds

Then, your recolored mount would show as:
vehicle_Hu_06.3DC | | vehicle_Hu_06a.dds

You need to look at each "index" in the .Mon file as a new Model. As if you were looking at an armors .Mlt or an items .Itm.

Hey guys ! I'm happy to see everyone helping me :)

So, let's explain a little more !

I've just create a recolored version of the 4 UM mounts level 58 (Unicorn, phoenix...)

As usualy, all server copy all 3DC, DDS and ANI from the 06 mounts and rename it with 09 with change. I don't have missed to replace ANI, 3DC, DDS in my vehicles files.

I will take an example :

Vehicle_Hu_01.MON :

Vehicle_Hu_06 :
3D files : vehicle_Hu_06.3DC | vehicle_Hu_06.dds
Height : 2.949 | Unkn : 255
Ani :
All vehicle_Hu_06_XXX.ANI

Vehicle_Hu_09 :
3D files : vehicle_Hu_09.3DC | vehicle_Hu_09.dds
Height : 2.949 | Unkn : 255
Ani :
All vehicle_Hu_09_XXX.ANI

All files are good in my data.sah

As I explain, when the vehicle_Hu_06 got in the MON file the vehicle_Hu_06.dds , the second mount got too, but if the vehicle_Hu_06 got the vehicle_Hu_09.dds, so both of them got the recolored version.

I hope i've explain well, i'm not good for explanation :/

Still not completely understanding what you are doing wrong, or what the exact problem is, but i just recolored a 06 mount dds to show how it should work for you.

Hopefully that helps you see if you are doing everything right.

And also, make sure the actual mount items (in Item.Sdata) are set to look at the 2 different models you are assigning (6 and 9) it sounds like you are either making both the mount items look at model 6, or model 9, instead of one to be looking at model 6 and the other at model 9.

Isabele, thx for your help. As I already say, I know the method to add a new mount in client, i've done exactly what you done, but I don't know why, the client bug.

I will try to take some screenshots, due to an unknow problem, I can't take them. (Yeah, bug loves me).

Ok, that the screenshots for proof :

A little #BUMP, sorry. :)

#BUMP, problem still here after many edit in my client...

From what i see, you have changed the new mount to all 09 make everything but the .dds into 06 instead of 09.

So then you'll have
06.3dc
09.dds
06_walk.ANI
06_run.ANI
06_jump.ANI
06_br.ANI
06_idle.ANI

Not sure if it will fix your error, but give it a go. And make sure you import all the new / needed files into your data, so your client can actually understand what you are trying to let it use.
