[Release/Guide] adding more than 100 pets

09/18/2009 02:02 louise32#1
Well seeing as how i kinda put my foot in it already i figured i may as well go ahead and make this thread.

As most of you know we are only supposed to be able to have 100 pets total on our p-servers, Well thats not exactly true.

As we all know there are 8 ids for 1 pet.

example:
1071100
1071101
1071102
1079100
1079101
1079102
1081100

bag id normally 729100

Well if you use
1072100
1072101
1072102
1076100
1076101
1076102
1082100
and say 815100 as an example

these id's will work, but they come with a new set of issues, 1st being that the new id pet will share ranking's with the corresponding 1071XXX pet this is due to the fact that the msg server doesnt read the new ids it only sees the 1071 and so on id's.

other issue is if you use Thunder Juice on your new id pet and then re log it will turn into the corresponding 1071XXX id pet. we are still working on some perm fixes for these issues.

But hope this helps those servers out there that are nearing 100 pet max. :)

I understand there will be alot of people who already know about this, but there are also alot that dont, so this is here for those that dont.

I thought i would update this thread with the fix as i think it got lost in the sea of threads this section seems to have these days, and also i have had a few people ask me lately for it and this kinda saves me going hunting.

Ok i have zipped up both files for the thundering issue with the new id pets.

The sql file you can either use as a query every maint if you prefer, or you can set up a task for your dedi to run this as often as you want, we have ours running at 15 minute intervals so all the players need do is relog and their new id pet is thunder.

If you want to set this up as a task, then you will need to save this info as a .bat file into your mysql\bin folder also make sure the path is correct IE:

C:\wamp\bin\mysql\mysql\bin\mysql.exe

C:\wamp\bin\mysql\mysql\bin\mysql.exe -u root -ptest -D my -e "source c:\thunder.sql"

also make sure your user and pass are correct as above -u root -ptest.

once you have both .bat file and the sql file in place you can set your task manager up to run the file as often as you want.

We just have the sql file placed on c:\ as you can see this path is also located in the .bat file

Sorry i really suck at giving directions so if u need any help i will try as best i can.

Just so u all know thanks are to go to funhacker for the actual script.

I still do not understand how to fix the bug thunder

when you use thunder juice on a new pet for example it will likely change its appearance to a pet sharing the same range, so you have to use the sql script to re-make it look like it should, just run the sql and you'll see, also you can use it as a batch file that will be executed by a task manager every x minutes/hours so all players can login back and have the pet back.

So this bug is not solved completely, but partially, am I right?
How I do for him execute with an interval of 15 min?
05/02/2010 04:53 cyberghoser1#7
You set the time in your task manager and you are good to go
