I think the following article I`m writing will help you a little bit.
As you all know,threads which are containing software need to be approved by a moderator first,before they will show up to all the members.
However,this moderation queue is only applied for the HACKS/BOTS section,meaning that basicly anyone can create a thread with malicious code,post it in DISCUSSIONS section,and anyone could download harmful programs to his/her PC.
What you should do before downloading a file:
1.Make sure a moderator approved it first (2nd post in the thread should be something like this : " #approved,safety confirmed")
2.If it wasn`t posted in the HACKS/BOTS section,it`s probably infected.Use the report button if you see any threads with software in another section then HACKS/BOTS.
3.Always scan what you downloaded with [Only registered and activated users can see links. Click Here To Register...] , [Only registered and activated users can see links. Click Here To Register...] .to make sure everything is allright (thread starter can edit thread and modify link,adding a harmful program)
4.Use a personal antivirus and firewall with proactive defense so the harmful program will not be able to propagate throughout your system.
