This section is for official Conquer Online game questions / discussions, not private server related / server related questions. Your question doesn't even have to do anything with Conquer Online. Just set up a VPS yourself. It's like you're not even trying; you're just vomiting dumb questions at us. I mean, I highly doubt you're as simple as your questions sound. Setting up a VPS is idiot proof. There are even support teams that help you set them up from the company you select (most of the time). Do some work, stop asking us to work for you.

Setting up a VPS in general? Or setting up a source on a VPS? If the latter, its exactly the same as setting it up on a personal computer. Except ports are already forwarded.

If you honestly have no idea on how to setup a VPS and/or install your CO2 "source" on it then I suggest to just drop your "own private server" idea.

Assuming you downloaded the source from somewhere, have 0% knowledge of coding and are thinking of getting "rich" with allowing people to donate, it will not happen.

Honestly, don't bother and just go play on one of the other private servers out there.

But he is 100% correct.
If you are unable to manage your own machine to setup your own source on, then you really have no business opening a private server.

How on earth do you plan on running a private server when you can't even set the VPS up to run one? Especially considering it is no different than your local computer.
Unless of course the OS isn't even installed on the VPS (and at this point I am assuming it isn't), which makes my above point even more valid.

Perhaps you should spend some time learning computer management (and possibly web development but there are other options there) before you even consider opening a private server.

I can tell you one thing, with these kinds of help threads floating around, if you were to post an advertisement thread for your server, no one would join.

Not trying to be rude here, just telling you the facts.

My post may have seemed discouraging. If it did, good because you are missing the fundamental basics.
THAT should encourage you to learn.

Start by searching for tutorials on how to setup a VPS.
Start by searching for tutorials on how to install your CO2 source on it.
I'm pretty sure there's a how-to on this exact website, most likely the same section on how to install it.

You said you purchased a source, alright. Personal choice but alright.
Do you know what language the source is coded in? C++? C#?
Do you have any coding experience?
How do you plan on fixing the other 20% of bugs that are still on your source?

You must plan this. You must attack this project with all you got and learn.
There is no easy way. Yes you can ask us the what/how/where questions.
Most of us will be willing to help you or even explain it to you in layman's terms.

But please, atleast educate yourself a bit before you start of with the idea of running a private server.
This is not a 10 minute job.

It should be discouraging. Running a private server is obviously not for you. You have no programming experience, you've been scammed into purchasing a source because your lack of experience, you can't even set up the source and need help from us... you don't even seem interested in learning how to manage your server - you just keep asking questions, and dumb questions at that. Go support a private server instead. There are plenty that could use your support.
