How does this game work?

I hope someone will take the time to answer this.

I just started to play the game today and I'm a bit confused. I know you can earn gold to buy packs or just earn new cards while leveling (I don't know if this is also the case when you are just playing) and I know you can make a custom deck with these cards.

But is the custom deck only to play "normal" games? Because I tried arena once now and it said that if you lose 3 times your deck gets deleted or something like that. So you can't use your custom decks in arena's or can you? Or does everyone get the same cards in Arena? I'm kind of confused about this part..

Pretty simple:

-Normal game mode: You play with an own deck that you configurated. You have access to the cards you gained during leveling champs or from cardpackets.
-Ranked game mode: Same as normal game mode but you own/lose stars for wins/loses and can rank urself up (25 ranks in total).

-Arena: You get the choice of 3 cards until you have a fulldeck with 30 cards. Then you compete with other players who made the same decision process. If you lose 3 times or win 12 times(before losing 3 times obviously) arena finishs and you get rewards based on how many wins you got.(these awards are always 1 cardpack and gold/dust. If you do good you sometimes get another card / packet and more gold/Dust.

So you basicly play arena for extra rewards?

Edit; I made a custom deck earlier but there is a big red cross over it and i can't select nor delete it?

You have to go in your Collection.
There you can change Decks. The red cross means that you dont have 30 cards in your deck.
