THE CO2M8 PRIMER GUIDE - Rev2
A quick start guide for new CO2m8 users, because the main guide is a little out of date but still mostly accurate I've decided to leave it intact and instead write a supplementary basic primer guide that deals more clearly and simply with the areas that are giving people the most trouble, I will continue updating this guide as further questions arise.
In this primer I will only describe the simplest ways of doing things,
for advanced methods and in-depth information you should still
refer to the the detail guide-->[Only registered and activated users can see links. Click Here To Register...]
THE MAIN CO2M8 SCREEN
[Only registered and activated users can see links. Click Here To Register...]
Note the 2 cyan buttons on the right marked L & S, I will refer to them as the L menu and the S menu.
The White box in the middle will be referred to as the CharDetailBox.
THE L MENU
[Only registered and activated users can see links. Click Here To Register...]
It is important to get these settings correct or things wont work as expected.
Memory Table
Set this to the version of the game client that's being used.
Sub game updates don't have their own tables (e.g 5160-5163 all use the 5160 table)
If there isn't a table for the version your using use the next one down(e.g. if your on 5162 next one down is 5160)
Remember to always confirm that this setting is correct after a CO2M8 update.
If game clients are already running and you had to change the table then restart CO2M8.
If you get incorrect information or no information in the CharDetailBox that means the table is wrong.
DMA Defeats
This setting MUST be enabled if you plan on using Mining, Inventory, HP or MP functions.
If game clients are already running and your enabling the function then restart CO2M8.
At times the DMA Defeats option will be grayed out,
this happens when the DMA information for that game client is not yet available.
If your not using functions that require the DMA patching then its safer to leave this setting off.
ACCOUNT MANAGEMENT
CO2M8 can manage your accounts and start clients but it doesn't need to,
you can manually login your clients and as long as the memory table is set correctly all will work.
If you want to add your account information to CO2M8 the easiest way is to manually log into game
then use the purple Account button in the S menu and fill in the account details.
Other methods of adding account information are covered in the full guide.
If you decide to use CO2M8's auto login/reconnect functionality then next you need to set a button to start the game client.
That's what the cyan buttons marked SC 1 to SC 9(in the L menu) are for.
The SC buttons can be setup to run other versions of the game in other folders and can have their own memory tables associated, they will also run other tools and stuff.
So for example right click on SC 1 find the game folder and click the conquer.exe file, hit OK button.
Now you should have an account and a game shortcut ready to go.
To use it just click on the account(in the list on the left) then click on the SC button and the game will start(auto password/start also need to be adjusted for your preference)
AUTO PASSWORD
If you want to have CO2M8 enter your password for you then firstly it needs to know what it is.
Secondly tick the checkbox called Auto PW and set the Speed Box.
Typing speeds vary depending on PC speed, operating system and password types.
All lowercase passwords are the fastest and usually work at speed 0.
You may need to use up to 3 or more depending on your configuration.
This step is essential if you want to use auto reconnects.
AUTO START
Log into game after the seconds delay specified in the DelayB4 box.
If your not using auto passwords the delay needs to be long enough for you to type the PW in.
You also need the delay if you want to change the server.
Note, if your a serious multi-sever person and you want to use auto reconnects you should
set each server up in its own game install folder with its own SC button.
THE S MENU
[Only registered and activated users can see links. Click Here To Register...]
This is where you get to set all the options for a character/account.
You can only use this menu you when the character is logged in and you must select the character in
the CharDetailBox by left clicking on its name before you can open the S menu for it.
For the purpose of this primer I will not go into all the options read the full guide for that, however note the following items.
Account button has already been discussed in the account management section and its there to let you add or amend account details for a logged in character.
Memory button opens a screen that lets you check to see if the values that CO2M8 is seeing are the same as what the game client says, this is for diagnostic purposes.
Act tick box toggle this to set the area your character is currently in as active or non active,
you will notice on the S menu some options are in color violet this means they only work in active areas.
MINING
1) DMA Defeats MUST be turned on and risk factor at 3(in the L-menu)
2) The area your mining in must be set to Active.
3) The inventory must be open.
4) OreDroper checkbox ticked and drop level in box next to it(eg 10)
5) Ore to drop ticked(eg Iron) and ticks in ore rates to drop(1-10).
Dropping starts when inventory is at or above the drop level.
AUTO-RECONNECT
1) The client must have been started used a SC button and account ID/PW must be present.
2) Enable the "Auto Login On DC" option in the S-menu.
3) Set values for "ReLogin Timer" boxes(eg 1,1)
4) Set values for "Total Limit" boxes, Cnt value must be less than Max value.
BASIC CO2M8 TROUBLESHOOTER
You will find more details in the main guide but here's some basic ones.
Why does co2m8 show [NotLoggedIn] or nothing?
Anything that alters the usual base address that the game resides in will cause m8 to not find the details it needs.
e.g. multiclient patches(apparently the UCO projects one is okay)
Anything that changes the games internal name in the task manager.
Add the new name to m8's C menu and restart m8.
Other language game clients may also be a problem never tested them myself and no-one has ever reported if they work or not.
They usually have a different internal name so do above point.
Possible issues with vista/7 where process queue security can cause co2m8 not to see some or all the game processes.
Tweak settings in task manager to fix that.
Wrong memory table for the game client selected in co2m8's L menu(may need a new version of co2m8).
Restart m8 if you have clients running and change the table.
Why do I get errors when I start co2m8?
If its your first time running m8 then some library files are probably missing from your PC, the detail guide talks about that.
co2m8 requires 3 things, VB6 runtimes, MSSTDFMT.DLL and the "MS Serif" font.
If its an existing installation of co2m8 it could be configuration file corruption in m8.
Exit m8 and move/delete the file CO2m8-set.ini out of the usual run directory, restart, all global setting will be set back to default.
Could also be
Why does co2m8 bring me to the epvp website?
The m8 version your using has been permanently set as defunct.
Always make sure your system clock is showing the correct date while using m8.
Also only get co2m8 from my pages on elitepvpers as integrity check failures will also set defunct status.
Why can't I use the violet functions(mining/potting/etc)?
You probably don't have DMA Defeats box ticked in L menu.
Restart m8 if you already have game clients running.
Warning using DMA defeats with the wrong memory table for the client range will probably cause the client to crash
or you won't see the correct values for HP etc. in the MEMORY menu under the S menu.
Checking if a game client is talking to co2m8
If you can see the client in the main list box click on and and press the S button
Now click the MEMORY button, check the values and use the refresh button.
If the first 4 items under the dynamic section are zero this means DMA defeats are off or not functioning.
The "update to table" button will reapply memory look-up information and DMA patches to the selected game client.
AND A FINAL VERY IMPORTANT NOTE:
Never, Ever, Ever, use co2m8 from any other source but my pages here on elitepvpers.
Its all over various cheat pages and some of the versions out there are NOT SAFE and they
will be made auto defunct, possibly even locking you out of the true current version.
So you have been warned.
