Patch Preferences

Hey everyone,

I'm sorry that I do this every so often. I'm currently working on a small private server project that I will make open source sooner than later. I have it almost logging in, and so I'd like to know (before I continue) which patch I should aim for. It's currently aimed at 5187, but that can easily be changed. What patch are you most interested in at this time?

PS: I will not be going any higher than 5187, I have no interest in working on such patches. If you do not have an interest in a patch lower than 5200, please mark "No interest". Thanks.

In my opinion 5017. It was the first patch that I played on a private server and has since been my favorite.

If you've never tried 4294, it's pretty nice. It's just like patch 5017, but before potency, the shopping mall, cps, etc was introduced. It's like Conquer 1.0, but with the Conquer 2.0 theme. It's a beautiful client. 4294 was also the first Christmas celebrated in Conquer Online. 5187 is also a nice client for mounts and the arena. Those are two of my favorite features in Conquer. I suppose I'm asking because there's a bit of something in each patch.

i think 5187 is perfect patch and it should stay there,

.ryu we have allot of 5017, CptSky also released his emulator and i think its worth checking out if you are interested in 5017,

5187 is a perfect patch because

- it have arena
- it have steeds
- It does not have chi system
- no assassin
- And it does not have all the shity futures tq added last 1 year.

Lord Gragen does drive a good point. Though I was asking for patch preferences, we don't have any public 5187 sources; we don't have any 4294 sources either. Which of these two work best for you guys?

I have tried 4351 the non existence patch.
And 5165 is also a favorite cause of the horses and interactions that it has.
I do love 5187 because they added Arena it adds more zest to pvp.

Yes I know there are. I've been with the forum since 2009 hybrid bugless source will always be my favorite 5017 source.

Well, looking at the older sources, a lot of them are really quite poor. Mine isn't all that great, it's just a side project, but if I'm going to do it correctly, I should at least do it correctly for one of the older patches. That way, we have a completely documented, correct source for the older patches. Since 4294 is doing the best, and since the runner up is 5017, I'm going to do it for 4294. Thanks for your feedback.
