Is it the end?

Hey.
I was going to come and try some new things to shaiya servers and give it to you guys (for start i was going to rebuild databases for the website i posted long ago) but after searching a bit there's nothing new that has been released here.
Is it the real end of shaiya?
Where are the dev's that was working for this community?
Well, all that just for say that if you guys are not caring anymore for shaiya, i won't loose my time for it too...

I totally agree with your reasoning, but let's imagine everyone giving out what they released:

First of all, everyone will have access to those files, so a lot of people are going to open new servers just because everything has been released and this will be enough for them.

Secondly, servers that had those files, before they get released, will loose people as everyone can now use them.

Let me give you an example. Whatif Blitz release the Kill Switcher from Shaiya Exile?
From what I know, only 2 or 3 servers have this tool ( perhaps less ) but if everyone has it, those servers aren't going to be attractive anymore.

Of course, this is just my opinion, everyone is free to say the opposite.

Exactly why i quit because anything i have done just was stolen or copied by others. Making the server non unique.

You know, those devs have a life too, and they have nothing to gain by releasing stuff on elitepvpers. This community, as you call it, is full of greedy people who don't really care about anyone, they will say "Thanks" in your release thread, but keep hating you behind the stage.

Your thread wasn't even needed infinite59, which is why the rest of us didn't post such a thing. Let this all be its way. Whoever needs some special development will pay the price for it.

Tyler, you remind me of Teddy. If you suck at securing your work, don't do it. Having an open client and QQing about those who extract it is ridiculous, it's open source materials.

Naw i have a tool that makes the client not open up, besides that i got tired of just developing shaiya all together.

do me one favor nubness dont ever put me together with tyler again. I was bitching around about ppl that stole stuff, true, but just because they claimed they did it. But i stopped to care about that at some point because it became ridiculous because everyone started doing that.

Well in my eyes infinite, shaiya is already long time on the way down hill but it is going slow, Developper got a real life aswell and that one should be always the most important one so I can understand quiet well the reason that they all are leaving.

Iunderstnd your point too mamamia but i don't talk about giving some release like the kill switcher from blitz, maybe find some working ep6 files even packed or idk, something to grind this community up again.
Not a full release but something we could work on...
And yes nuubness, this thread is maybe useless for ppl that didn't leave this section like you but it answered me about how it's going.

Yep. Maybe this is the sign of the end. But I don't think it is problem if you do love shaiya.
I know shit about SQL or coding (or whatever you call it), but shaiya make me use brain.exe (exactly is google) to find out how to make my own server and fix some error.
It would be if there is some help. If there is not, that's ok, I will use what I have.
P/S: I found that there is a map call "Cayon of Greed". Maybe be we are in there.

It is DEVs fault aswell.
They released stuff that know it'd be copied, while they should have kept it and use it on their own servers or tests till they're ready to launch.
Now, that everything is free of access to anyone who wants it, Shaiya Private Servers are just copying things from each others. I think it's funny, because many developers / admins in this forums seem to refer fights between servers instead of the most important: keep the game alive.
Keep fighting and arguing and you'll lose this game and it's players. As said tons of times in this forums, get every "useful" and "hardworking" Devs /admins together to make something great and never seen, instead of quitting after all shits you did.

I totally agree with DarkClanTuga, you guys should get your shits together. I think that Draco was even working on something like that, but well pitty he left. I'm just watching those new servers topics etc, even my grandparents don't argue that much. I've seen so much awesome [yea i really said it], awesome servers. If you guys would work together to keep them up this would look totally different. I see there are some smartasses on which i was literally laughing that i almost fell from my chair, well one time world'll need people like that too. Ofc that old seasoned Devs won't give out their secrets to first newbie they'll see, what i meant is, that instead of posting greedy, rude and flame making posts you should tell it to them in human way [and they really should NOT post new servers until they'll be totally satisfied with them], take yo friends and make up a server which will last. There were cases where admins etc had "real life problems" well for that there's a staff team to help keep the game up, isn't it? But yea, for that you'd have to pick people you actually trust and who have a clue about the game first. We could've had so much prospering servers, you might not recognize it, but people who watch and actually still play shaiya would tell you :] Anyways, too much of self speak, i hope that one time there'll be a server with great staff. Original as well [ik cliché]. With admins/devs who don't quit cause of one little error. Amen.
Trust me, there are people who still like to play. A lot of them. And they're ready to support servers, people who still belive in this so called community ;]

Blaming developers and all that. It is the developers who have a great contribution to the community still being alive, by releasing some new things.

I don't claim to have contributed a lot, but let me brag for a little bit. For example, Euphoria Dev Team (myself and Philipp) has been on top of all major releases of 2013, such as expanding pvp rank caps and changing stat points rewarded by the vet manager, something everyone was trying to achieve for ever since OS went up to 1 million kills cap. It was EDT who released a perfect rerolling system that saves a GM's time, where server does all the work. It was us who released a lot of other crap, all for a reason, to try and give something new to the servers that are out there.

I don't really understand what it is you want more from devs. Perhaps waste 12 hours a day and explain every dummy that tries to be a developer how to recolor gear ? I don't know about Philipp, but barely anyone cared to explain the basic stuff when I got started 16 months ago. My point is simple, if you can't do something on your own or by following someone's example, give up.

I kinda get your point. You're not a developer, it's easy for you to say that, but do you think we're machines meant to produce scripts and release them for free ? Sorry to disappoint, we do have lives.

Now, about the servers and the player base.

Right now I believe the whole private server community has approximately 5000 players, probably less. Why the hell would you need more servers ? We need to get rid of the 10-people online servers, but try to talk some sense in the brains of the stupid admins who desire the blue name so badly. You'll get their usual crap, "Everyone has a server, why not me ?", "But I want a chance too, I have to try." Well thanks for trying, you're directly responsible for making a few more players stop playing Shaiya, because your 10-people online server pissed them off, I've seen that a lot.

I'd say you look around and see that there's servers whose admins really care for the player base, and try their best to protect them, offer good content, make events for players' entertainment. Here's a list:

• Shaiya Exile
• Shaiya Throne Evolution
• Shaiya Tactics
• Spectral Shaiya
• a few more.

I can personally tell you that the admins of these servers do care about the players, and that they run the best private servers at the moment.

There are, however, lots of 10-people online servers, as I've mentioned before. Let's take a look down the Shaiya Private Server Advertising section. Most of them are just junk, copy pasted servers that don't deserve to be even logged on to.

Let's do some simple math. There's over 100 servers made by people who want their chance or those who want to have a server for themselves and their friends.
Last time I checked 100 * 10 = 1000. 1000 damn players being wasted just like that on 100 servers. Why wouldn't these 1000 players join one of the servers I mentioned, or a server that is run by someone who cares and can provide the best for his players ?
That happening, we'd have ~10 servers with at least 300 people online on every of them.

I'm not gonna hope for any of my rants to come true, there's no more hope left, people are just stupid like that.

We didn't say my opinion for making someone upset or so, trust me i'm looking on it from same view as you. I do know how's it looking around atm, We do know that you and rest of Euphoria staff team did some hard job on server and releases.

And we cannot stop the upcoming newb servers. The thing we wrote [or at least i] was for them.
Most of the devs nowadays as you said can do max recoloring. So yea, we're kinda blaming those. I don't see a point calling myself a dev when only thing i can do is open photoshop and SQL.
