what Gravel (mining item) use for?

i play in hanin
i saw shouts for some ppl asking for buy Gravel (mining item)
i asked them what they used gravel for?
no answer
they spend like 1 k for each one....another shout ask to buy it for 5 k each
for sure they not spend money for nothing
they use it in hack or some thing like it?
or there is quest i dont know it? !!
