Seriously though, 3D Object Converter can read and write the Shaiya formats. Downside: it costs $80ish to register the program so you can actually use it...

3DOC (full version) Can read most shaiya 3D objects but it can only save back 3DO files.

Actually, I just read through the shStudio thread, and it appears you can use shStudio to at least import your new models into your game. I'm not sure if it can handle non-Shaiya formats like .3ds.

3ds formats have to be converted over to 3do or 3DC before you can use them with ShStudio.

Well damn. So shStudio can't convert anything to .3DC/.3DO?...Glad that 3DOC can, then.
