It's your version of PHP, you need to get an older version. I can't remember off the top of my head what version it is you need. I had major issues with this when integrating forum, game database, and User CP to manage all of them. Game running 4.0.X and Forum/Website running 5.X mysql made my life a little difficult, especially on a test machine running two versions of mysql.
You'll have to google to find out what version of PDO/PHP was last compatible with mysQL 4.0
