How do people DOS a server when the IP is hidden?

There is a server that has been DOS'd, they are having a secured pack files, blocked *.eix and hidden in .EXE, yet some people DOS'd that server .. how is that possible? How could that person gather the server information like the IP and Ports for when the files are completely hidden and protected ?

DoS wouldnt help you .
You need DDoS or a Botnet XD
Or: have you at home a 10gbit internet?
