Patch 5157 3deffect removal?

07/22/2009 13:26 Tulazan#1
Has anyone managed to remove 3deffects from patch 5157?

I have tried the old way of doing it, ie:- making a blank 3deffect.dbc in ini folder, but this has not worked for me. I also used the old old OLD way and tried deleting the 3deffect.ini text but it is not working.

Any help would be much appreciated.

I have quitted CO and I don't remember exactly the location of the folder, but if search a little, I think you will find a folder named effects or something like that. Make a back-up of it and then delete it. Now you should have a LOT less lag.

I also did an edit on NPC ini and changed all effects to none. (Not that it seems to have worked on the lovestone). Odd as removing it altogether does remove all NPCs from game.

Some of this is nothing to do with the GFX effects IK but for my custom install I use for botting it's not needed. Anyway this has removed a lot of effects from in game. It has also removed ALL Ninjas from game too (Seeing names running around with no player there is great! LMAO). BUT.... Super gems seem to still be active and a few other effects are to I think.

Anyone got any ideas?

I have no auto patch that's the first thing I get rid of I run straight from Conquer.exe No stupid "Trojan/virus" checker.

I have 2 installs I use. One is cut down to just what the game needs to run and I normally remove all effects. And one that is a TQ install. That way I keep my TQ install updated and the other one I only update when needed and safe to do so for botting.

Most of the Super Gem and weapon skills are still working at the mo. it's starting to bug me.

On a side note as the Ninjas have been made "Invisible" by the edits I have already made does anyone know how to remove all other players from the game?

If you want to edit any .ini files. You have to go into their properties after editing them and ticking the read only box so Conquer can't write back to them.
