I recommend you use Windows Server 2008 R2 and SQL Server 2008 R2.

And what is the difference between Windows Server 2008 R2 and SQL Server 2008 R2 ? i think you were telling sql server 2008 R2 and sql server 2012...:) and yes the 2012 is pretty good xD
