MiddleMan Verification?

Is there a list of Middlemen?

There is someone who claims he's a middleman. It's not that I don't trust him, I just want to be sure, so that nobody, neither him, nor I, gets scammed. I don't meet the requirements to purchase a middleman, but if anyone would be able to help me verify if this guy is a middleman, it would be greatly appreciated, since the transaction includes a lot of money (over $1000). Every user who meets the requirements can offer a mm-service.
Especially with such an amount (~$1000) I wouldn´t recommend some stranger and be extra carefull.
