Thread automacticly closes after "1" month.

it seems to be annoying that some people find old posts and bumps them thinking that the item is still for sale when the thread haven't been bumped/posted on for over a month.

so im thinking that if a post is inactive (for more than a month) it should just auctomaticly close itself.

feel free to add suggestions, very raw idea.

There are also a lot of important threads which shouldn't be closed after one month.

Could you provide me some examples of that? Also we could discuss about a close after 2/3/4 months - ive never seen a thread that needs to be open after one months of no posts (beside stickys).

To avoid misunderstandings I'd suggest to close a thread automatically after one year and not earlier.

tbh I can't imagine a single reason to push a one year old thread. Even if someone knows a good reason to push such a thread there is still the option to contact a moderator to re-open it, but I doubt that this will ever happen.

One month is definitely too short. Certain topics can be up to date even throughout a whole year.

with close i mean so people cant "bump" and you can open the thread yourself if there is a need?
like if no one posts on a post generally after a month, there should be no reason to have it open, so it closes = no one can post/bump, but everyone can still see it (if sticky or smth)

We all know what a closed thread is, therefore we don't need an explaination. If a topic is still up to date or there is something that needs discussion, the thread is simply is being bumped. One month is simply a too small time window.

well if no-one writes in a thread for maybe 3 months, it seems fair that it closes and the "threadmaker" can then choose if the topic/thread should be re-opened.

In Coders Den it happens sometimes, when an problem was solved a long time ago and one has the same problem for whom the solution does not work.
It would be shame to force those nice google and search function users to open a new thread :/

I don't see a problem here. Bumps don't happen that often. When they do and it's not a useful bump, you delete the posts and close the thread. Done.

I support this for CERTAIN sections
discussions and releases are important but Trade and advert threads should be considered as active as long as there is activity
If a trade thread is 1 month old, auto close it

In my opinion, 1 month is way too short - I support the idea behind this, but the timeframe should be something around 1 year. The OP should have the ability to re-open it or, if that wouldn't be possible, at least report it so a mod can re-open it if needed.

I think the same, what nico write there.
But I also think, that 1 year is still to long for this.
3 - 4 months will be better.

No, you can't close threads outside the trading sektion. A moderator must to do it.

Closing topics After 1 month of inaktivity in trading Sektions is a Good idea.
