5017 Connection Error

Night everyone,

So, I've been having some issues for the past two days with a 5017 source iv'e been trying to study/use for my own learning purposes. More specifically Arco's "upgraded" 5071 Source which turned out to work with 5017 and not 5071(client doesn't connect @ 5071) but anyway, the problems are as follow:

1. The info is loaded via source(when break pointing) but never saves on the database(SQL): [Only registered and activated users can see links. Click Here To Register...] [Only registered and activated users can see links. Click Here To Register...]

2. When I log in after creating a test account, the client stops at "Registering account..please wait.." and disconnects. The source goes this far as to connecting me to the game: [Only registered and activated users can see links. Click Here To Register...]

I know that the review on the source states it's 5071 but I HIGHLY doubt that is the issue in this case seeing as I can at least create a character when using the 5017 client and not the 5071 client.

Thanks in advance.

Arco has 2 sources: ([Only registered and activated users can see links. Click Here To Register...]) ([Only registered and activated users can see links. Click Here To Register...])

I'm assuming you used the 5017 source thinking it was the 5071.

I was able to connect and create a character using the 5071 source(Arco Online) on a 5017 client.

Again,
When using a 5017 client i'm able to connect and create a character just fine.

When using a 5071 client I can't connect to the server at all. Iv'e triple checked both clients and their versions.

You shouldn't be able to use a 5071 source with a 5017 client. The 5017 client (which I'll refer to as the classic client) uses NetDragon Websoft's Asymmetric Authentication Cipher for game server packet exchange. In the 5071 client (the new client) uses Blowfish and the DH Key Exchange for game server packet exchange. You shouldn't be able to ever get to the character creation window unless the source doesn't process packet 1052 using traditional methods. When using the 5071 client, what methods are you using to connect, and what error message are you getting? Have you checked out [Only registered and activated users can see links. And here's the 5071 client.

P.S: I don't know why it says Arco 5017 when the reviews claim it's 5071.

If it works with the 5017 client, then it's definitely a 5017 server source. That's your problem. If you downloaded it from the post I linked to in my popular sources thread, the link was incorrect. The member who uploaded it must not have checked the version. Here's a new link. Tell me if it works. If it does, I'll replace the link. Cheers!

EDIT: It partly works. I managed to create an account no problem. The login sequence seems to be acting up for some strange reason. It does seem like it worked for the other accounts that were saved on the database though. I also double-checked to make sure everything was set up correctly.
