Dota 2: Beta is over

After a more or less two-year beta phase - Valve rather calls it "Early Access Phase" - Dota 2 is now supposed to be completely accessible for the public. Meanwhile, it has become the most played game ever offered by Valve on Steam. Nearly 4 million active gamers have been recorded yet in a month, whereas at peak times much more than 300.000 active users are playing it at once. When looking at these numbers it's only understandable, that this game has to be released from beta phase although it was actually not that difficult to join the Early Access Phase. One was able to purchase a bundle via Steam's store or to accept invitations being sent by gamers, who were already in possession of the game and thus received gifts at regular intervals.

The announcement of Dota 2 shouldn't proceed with a flounce, but rather through definite intervals and limited capacities for gamers to avoid maximum occupancy rates for Valve's servers. It will be possible to enqueue, where - allegedly - one might get through pretty fast and where people already in queue are notified via e-mail. Noteworthy is also the approach to new gamers: with the last patch, Valve has expanded the beginners' campaign which does not only contain one mission, but a series of rather time-consuming missions. Beginners are now introduced to this game in an efficient way.

Further preparations have been taken care of for a fluent release of Dota 2 - recently ago, server capacities in Stockholm, Luxembourg, Korea and also west of the USA have been expanded. It is now expected, that around 450.000 more gamers can be logged in at the same time, which raises the maximum number to 800.000 gamers.

They should have just made it free from the start lol. Many players got attache to LoL or HoN by now, but still Dota 2 is great I would rank Dota 2 as second best HoN being first, and LoL last. HoN requires much skill, and is not as childish as LoL. Dota 2 is balance between both, but just my opinion I will stick with HoN no immature kiddies.

Does anyone think Dota2 will surpass LoL? I don't think its playerbase is big enough to do so. It is also not very noob friendly like LoL is
