The update page that Nexon made does not say that you will be automatically banned or any of the sort. It says you may be flagged for file modification and it also does say that the game will not run correctly without it.

But they did not say you will be automatically banned.

My results were skewed because of a hack I was using. My bad. I should have tested it on a clean client first. There's a chance of a ban, but it's not 100% as I originally thought.

Yes the way that Nexon has worded it tells us that they do not want us to mess around with it but most of the article about it is simply telling users that it is part of the game and that they should not try to stop or uninstall it.

You should name your bypass "White cipher". I will love you forever.

Wouldn't it make more sense if it was like decipher instead? So...if someone did make a bypass and called it Black Decipher or White Decipher it'd make more sense since

decipher is the opposite of cipher....:o

Cipher in this case is a noun, though. According to Wikipedia, "In cryptography, a cipher (or cypher) is an algorithm for performing encryption or decryption—a series of well-defined steps that can be followed as a procedure to describe any encryption transformation, regardless of whether it is encryption or decryption."

The important part is the encryption OR decryption... in this case, it means both.

If it was a verb, then you'd be right :P

Go ask the Combat Arms guys about dealing with Black Cipher. They've been dealing with it for years.

How about Cipher Filter?
(as somewhat of a reference to the PlayStation game series, Syphon Filter...)

There was one for Maple Story. I believe when it loaded it said something like "fighting the darkness".
