ID Verification for other countries

I suggest a different ID verification process that involves uploading a picture of one's driver's license or national ID card to verify their first and last name. The specifics can vary, for instance a phone verification, or other parameters decided by the Elitepvper staff can come into play, but something needs to be done. I know that currently only German banks are allowed to be verified, but the foreign community (read: non-German) makes up a large part of the site and I'm sure other sellers than myself would appreciate the ability to take the next step in adding repute to their accounts.

Verification Promotes Secure Trading
Opening ID verification to other countries not only increases the trust within the elitepvpers community, but it creates opportunity for sincere sellers to establish themselves beyond simply having a large number of successful trades. There is no replacement for linking someone's identity with their member account, and scammers can just find alternatives for getting back in the game after being banned. But ID Verified users will be bound to a single account indefinitely unless they wish to endure the lengthy process of changing their real name.

The Growing Community Cannot Be Stopped
It is inevitable that this gaming community is already one of the largest on the internet. But with its reach comes the unwavering difficulty of maintaining a safe and secure environment that promotes both seller trust and buyer confidence. There is no way to stop the enormous amount of new users that are welcomed each month, so ID verification for foreign users will eventually need to become a reality here at Elitepvpers.

I already spoke with one LUKE about ID verification for other countries, and he said that they work on that:

A huge yes! But you can't make bank account if you don't have 18 here, so that would be a problem. Maybe using your passport?

Yes from me. I think the Admins is working on an ID verification for other countries. (sorry for my bad english :D)

It's a good idea, but like the others said, on the page it states "ID verification is currently only available for users with a bank account in Germany. However, we are working hard on finding trustworthy partners in other countries." so for now, I suppose we wait.

That's from about a year. But I think giving a passport would be the best idea so far.

Yeah, I can't make a bank account since i'm very young but I do have passport, I'd get ID verified via passport if there was.

There are no trustworthy companies which we could take. Be sure, Luke is already searching and there will be a way for foreigners soon, too.

Trustworthy isn't that big of a deal. There are dozens of companies who provide such services and comply with the Finance Acts of their countries. However, finding a global all in one solution is impossible.
Each country has it's own standards and solutions. Companies like miiCard just take the most profitable and they are the closest thing to a trustworthy solution you'll find.

Luke has to look into the Userbase, which solution would make sense.
The site has a German ID verification already, other German speaking countries and the US could be the next step.

For smaller unsupported countries, the verification can only be made manually, such a service integration costs money, it wouldn't be profitable.

However, what is it worth? Trading with a German ID verified User, being ripped off. What could I ever do about it? Other then giving him a Negative Rating, there isn't much more to do, if you are from a whole other continent.

It would just be another Badge, letting the Users feel save, even if they aren't.
Your suggestion might be good and I understand it from your business point of view, it would make your costumers feel safer, but they aren't, so I am against it.

Other solution would be, verifying Users specifically to their country.

Ipalot: you assume that everyone is going to scamm (even with verification). I can only speak for my person, and i would never rip-off someone. Why should i? i make good money by using this page and i use my good reputation to even increase my proceeds. I think that many other people(here) are also in my opinion.
for sure some people would even scam with a verification, whichever they have/had. But like all over the world there are lawbreaker. There is no possibility to guarantee 100% safeness, but i think such badget would help to suggest more safety.

Okay, so whats the point about it then? This badge would then only suggests more safety, but it would not offer any. While the German Sofortident verification, for Germans, actually offers them more safety. After verification, Sofortident and elitepvpers have more useful information's about the user in case of fraud. And he would, in case of fraud, be hold accountable for it, because the German Police can use those information's to find the scammer.

This badge should bring safety to traders, not only suggest safety.
Doing this on the international level would decrease this safety.

I am not saying everyone is going to scam, since this even isn't a case right now. But for some scammers, this would be a very welcome alternative to being seen as "trusted" traders.

Yes you wan't this badge to look more trusted, to increase your business. You would never scam, your buyers are safe now and will be safe later.
But at what cost? That others can start scamming users from other countries, since law enforcement wont chase them cross borders for a few dollars?

Remember, elitepvpers does not ban users because they are being accused of scamming and they are always only being accused. Elitepvpers wont remove the ID Verification in case of a scamming accusation, neither will they ban the user.

Sorry, the risks/benefit ratio is too uneven. I am still saying no. Hopefully you understand my point.
