how so much dmg?

I'm just baffled.. lvl 5 battle, I have armour and thick skin skills, pretty tanky stuff. This guy has no offensive skills, he just activates his Fierce Brute super and mashes me for 144 dmg! Anyone know how it can be this much dmg? I mean I should have a lot of damage reduction going on..

O_o did he have weapons? That's the only way it could be possible. (Except some kind hack of course)

Yes he has a hammer.. if you click the link you can see the fight!

hammer + special atk = 230 dmg for me at lvl 6

base dmg hammer with 5str = ~76dmg

A hammer probably explains it, it has really high damage.

Well I suspect some weapons bypass the "armour" skill. For example I got hit by a short sword for 4dmg, and then the brute switched to a club and that did 30dmg.

Oh and this brute also has a hammer, but I don't like the weapon much.. seems to get dodged constantly. I prefer another brute I have with "tornado of blows" and a flail.. she can be doing nothing all game and then just oneshot the other guy with 2-3x hitting for 50+ in one attack.
